Project

 2012-2014

From 2012 to 2014 there is a project called “Dwindling Resources – Growing Challenges” that focuses on environmental issues such as deforestation, water and air pollution and global warming. It includes 9 schools from different countries. Our school works directly with Germany, Scotland, Norway and Belgium.

During each exchange week students meet other youths their age from different countries. They are divided into groups and each team has to work together to produce a Powerpoint, film, digitale or something similar on a given topic. In addition to the projectwork, the students also get to experience a different culture.

  Results:

The first exchange week for our school was in October 2012 in Germany. The main focus was on water and the ecological footprint that humans leave. Students made powerpoints and wrote reports.

The second exchange week was in April 2013 when German students came to Estonia. The general topic was water and forests, students had to make a short newsclip on a more specific subject of their own choosing.

The third time we hosted Belgian and Norwegian students here in Tartu. The aim was to make a digitale about global warming. Our digitales can be seen below.

The fourth meeting was in Scotland, where students made Powerpoints on other topics related to the environment.

The exchange week in Norway  took place in February.

The last meeting related to this project was held in Belgium in April 2014. Every group had to prepare a presentation or a video about the environmental issues concerned.
